EMDR THERAPY

WHAT IS EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidenced based trauma therapy that integrates elements of somatic awareness, body experiences, cognitive therapy, and mindfulness to help people heal from life disturbing experiences and traumatic events. EMDR Therapy is a is a recommended treatment by several mental health organizations around the world for healing PTSD and other life disturbing experiences such as addiction, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and much more. EMDR is an 8 phase psychotherapeutic method that can effectively relieve stuck and overwhelming experiences by transforming how traumatic memories are stored in the brain and body. EMDR allows incomplete or “stuck” experiences to be safely processed and integrated by reducing the disturbance of traumatic memories so that people can envision and embody a more positive future.

EMDR THERAPY for TRAUMA TREATMENT

EMDR not only addresses traumatic events, but also any disturbing experience that has affected an individual’s life that they may not consider as “trauma.” As a traumatic memory is integrated, perceptions of the experience spontaneously shift, negative beliefs give way to a more positive perspective, the body releases old tensions, and emotional ease. Symptoms of acute anxiety, shame, nightmares, diminish or disappear. Your sense of self reorganizes to be consistent with who you are today. EMDR has been shown to be helpful with individuals experiencing addiction, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and much more.

EMDR Therapy can generate incredibly positive results and transform lives through deep healing experiences. Individuals often report very satisfactory and lasting results after months of starting treatment. The treatment of EMDR Therapy creates the opportunity for you to embark on a journey to face your fears and understand your wounds in a holistic, compassionate, and authentic manner.
